Family Pictures

Back in September (I know that this is a bit over due) we had family pictures taken. I think that they turned out pretty darn cute. They were taken by the talented Nicole by photobynicole.blogspot.com check her out. She is awesome. She did a great job working with the boys. We were at Wheeler Farm and we went places I didn't know existed there. Thanks again Nicole!
Boys in an old truck. I love it. It reminds me of my Grandpa Burnett's old truck

Max. He did not hold still for one picture but all of the pictures of him totally captured his personality

The Family

Cute Cael. He has changed so much since these pictures. I can't believe that he will be one on January 2!

Max and Cael

Well I thought that it was about time to update the blog. I am so on top of things right?Anyway, Things have been good here with us. Cael is growing like a weed. He can walk/run anywhere that he wants to go. He know how to go up stairs and I am trying to teach him how to go down. He waves and can say a few words. Lately Cael has decided that he likes the camera and likes to have his picture taken. So we now have a ton of cheesey smiles from him. He loves it.

Here he is with the Christmas tree. He totally likes the lights and gets so excited when we turn it on.

Here we are building gingerbread houses at Great Grandma Burnetts. It is a super fun tradition. Max really liked eating all of the candy and likes to look at the house that he and Daddy built.

Max is actually smiling in this picture. Max usually hates getting his picture taken but now that Cael likes it, he is not so opposed to it. Check out the cheesey Cael smile. They play together pretty well. Max shares pretty good and Cael just wants to get in on all of the action with whatever Max is doing. They get so excited to see each other in the morning. Max is getting so big. He is so smart and is learning so much at his day care with Miss Sarah and the gang.  We are still working on potty training. This kid is stubborn. Taryn has been traveling and school is going well for me. So until something exciting happens or the next post.

Max Golf

Looking at the waterfall at Mulligans

Yes I let him throw rocks in the water
We took Max mini golfing this summer and he really liked it...for about 2 holes. Then he got board but he entertained himself by throwing rocks into the ponds and climbing the large rocks that separated the different levels of the course. He totally loved it and keeps asking when we are going to go again.

Summer Fun

Max and Taryn mini-golfing
Max sitting in the SWAT truck
They both actually really liked the Dino Museum
Cael getting ready to swim at Cherry Hill. Cael is quite the little water baby, he never wants to get out of the water!
No he did not eat this, but he really liked the taste.
So long time no blog. Yeah, I know it has been awhile but he have been busy. We had so much fun with the boys this summer. We went to the zoo, Cherry Hill, mini golfing, and boating just to name a few. Max even rode on the tube while we were boating and loved it! He also realy liked "rescuing" the people from the water.  The boys are getting so big! Max talks up a storm and says the funniest things, he is also working on potty training. Cael is cruising everywhere, crawling, eating and babbling up a storm. Max and Cael like to play together (most of the time) and it is so cute when they do. They laugh and hold hands and I totally melt. But they are brothers and we have already had fights over toys and stuff like that. Best friends and worst enemies.

Summer!

Here in the Herrera household we are loving summer! Time at Daddy's baseball games, going to the zoo and the aquarium, Wheeler Farm, Dino Park and lots of outside time. I have had to go to a couple classes for school this summer and one of them was woodshop. It was awesome! I made some great stuff and now know how to properly mantain and use the tools and machinery in  the school shop. Taryn has had to go on some trips for work and the latest one was to China. Usually his work is very good at giving plenty of notice but this time he got less than 24 hours. He was the only one with a valid China work visa, lucky him! With no school I am trying to keep up on housework and get some overdue projects done (organizing stuff and a bunch of sewing and quilting projects). The boys get along so great! Max is so cute with Cael  and Cael adores his big brother. Max is talking up a storm and it is so fun to converse with him and amazing to hear how much he knows and understands things. Cael can sit up by himself, he likes to feed himself. I don't let him feed himself too often just because I don't want to clean it up, but I do let him help me. It seems to go so much better that way. Cael has also cut his bottom left tooth and the one on the right is on its way! So life is good here, just the way we like it!

Cael

My little baby is getting so big I can hardly stand it. He can sit up pretty much by himself. He smiles so much and laughs. Max can get the best giggles from him. He sleeps through the night, except when daddy is out of town. He weighs 17 pounds and his getting so heavy to carry around in his car seat. He loves to play and look around and hates it when anyone is out of his line of sight. He really likes laying by his brother and watching Max.
Dressed up in his Guatemala shirt that Uncle Chris brought back from his mission when Max was a baby. I thougth this picture was funny becuase it looks like Cael is waving to the camera. Cael also took over Max's Elmo. Max is not very pleased with this. I am sure that this is only the beginning of the fight over toys.
Love that smile. He also has crazy hair. The nurse at the doctors office said it looks like baby chicken feathers becuase it is so fine and fluffy. He has about 3 strands that are twice as long as the rest right on the top of his head. I love it.
That's right people I can hold my bottle. That does not mean that I do it all of the time. Why use my magnificent skills when other people will do it for me.
Max likes to get in to bed with Cael in the morning on the weekends and wake him up and play before breakfast.
Toes! I love my feet! Cael will grab his toes and turn in to a rolly polly. He will go from side to side even if he is sitting up.
I know I am totally biased but my boys are adorable!

Sweet Tooth

Max has quite a sweet tooth. Just like his Daddy. The two of them love candy, sugary candy. I personally love chocolate. Back to the subject. I was putting away laundry and I came in to the kitchen and found this.

Max had pulled up a chair from the kitchen table over to the island. All becuase he saw a bag of swedish fish. He was so proud of himself for being able to get the fishies all by himself.

Things don't always go as planned...

So Max loves his daycare and they were having a preschool program for the end of the year. Now, Max is a little young to be in the preschool but they let him participate when he wants, which is not often. But he had a part in the program and we practiced and practiced. He was so good! His one line was "Thank you for coming" He had it down! He practiced at school and knew all of the songs and was all ready to go. But when the time actually came...

He was supposed to be in that empty space on the right. You can see his tape mark. He walked out with the kids and then straight in to a chair on the fron row.

Here it is, labeled.

But Max chose to sit by one of the students that works at the daycare and play with dinosaurs.

Max and Cael

So I have not been taking as many pictures lately as I normally do and that makes me feel bad becuase when Max was a baby the camera was a part of my hand and it just hasn't been like that with Cael. Probably because I need both hands to keep track of both boys. But here are some shots of the boys
Here are the boys laying on the ground in a big pile of blankets that Max seems to always need.

Cael is getting so big and so strong he can almost sit up all by himself. He also has to constantly be standing and jumping up and down on your lap while you hold him. He does not like to sit sitll at all.

These are shots of Caels pouty face. I know I am so mean, I did not console my child while he was upset, I grabbed the camera. This look is just too cute. So sad but so cute!He sticks his lip so far out. What follows this face is loud and definitely not cute and there is no need to picture that (just cover your ears)

Play!

Cael has really started to play. I has been fun. He really likes his exersaucer, playmat, bumbo chair and all of his hand held rattles and balls. Max also loves to play with him and shake Caels toys to keep him happy.

Egg Hunts!

Sorry my pictures went all wierd while I was laying them out.
The Annual Burnett Egg Hunt that my Aunt Gaelynn throws was super fun as usual. Max had  a great time finding eggs! He was so sad when he had found all of his. He aslo a a bunch of fun with the pinata. He really liked hitting it with the stick and watch everyone else hit it. Cael loved getting held by everyone but I think that his favorites were Aubri, Dani and Jordan. He even fell asleep while Aubri was holding him. She is the hot redhead in the pictures, Cael is under the blanket that is covering her.
Max decided to wear his basket like a hat. He is looking at his "Jesus book" it tells the Easter story.
Natalie, Alex's girlfriend, invited us to her work egg/candy hunt. Max got quite a haul of candy. Thanks Natalie it was fun.

Mommy and Cael

I just thought that I would toss a picture of Cael and I since they are few and far between.

St Pattys Day

On St Patricks Day Max did a ton of fun stuff at school. A leprechan came and they made fake gold. For dinner Taryn made green food. We had Green sprite and milk and pancakes. Max loved the green.

Bath Time!

Cael absolutely loves bath time. He just kicks and kicks until there is no water left in his little tub.

Disney on Ice

My mom took my sister, Max and I to Disney on Ice this past Saturday. Max was so excited to see Mater and Lightning McQueen. I was excited too becuase I had not been to it since I was little but I have fond memories of the shows and getting my snowcone in my collectors cup to take home (many of which my parents still have). After we parked we had to run through the rain and snow to get to the arena and once we got there I bought us some cotton candy and it came with a cute little mater hat. I had to buy a second bag later on to take some cotton candy to Taryn (his favorite) so we have 2 mater hats. Max loved the part with the cars. They really drove on the ice. My only disappointment was that they were only out for like 5 minutes. I realize that they don't do tricks like the skaters but Max and I am sure other little boys were totally bummed it didn't last very long. The lion king and little mermaid parts were cute but Max didn't like the Tinkerbell part. That one was long even for me. All in all it turned out to be a very fun outing.
Max was totally posing. It is kind of rare to get a picture of Max smiling. He is usually trying to come around the camera to see the picture before it is even taken.
The cars looked just like they did in the movie. I actually really like Cars even though Max watches it over and over and over and over...
